Workshops
I have 20 years of experience of designing printed textiles for the Fashion and Textile industry and have loved painting and drawing for as long as I can remember.
I find it so rewarding to inspire other people to be creative and develop their own skills by running my art workshops.
I can offer workshops in different elements of drawing, painting and surface pattern design. They can be adapted to suit various group sizes and age ranges, designed to be a few hours in one day or over the course of several weeks.
Check out my instagram and Facebook pages for my latest workshops.

School Workshops
Textiles students years 10/11 and 12 – Tropical painting and print design workshop
A 3 hour workshop for Textiles students in years 10/11 and 12. We began by making expressive, dynamic observational ink drawings of a range of tropical plants I had provided.
We made quick sketches to loosen up and discover the fluidity of working in ink. We developed sketches into detailed drawings and paintings of the plants. Using these drawings we developed our own hand made repeat patterns.
University Workshops
BA 1st year Fashion students – Fashion illustration workshop
A 3 hour workshop with 1st year Fashion design students in Fashion Illustration. Working in large scale we made a number of quick ink sketches, observing a moving figure. Working up to longer poses and more detailed designs.
University Workshops
BA 1st year Fashion students- Repeat print workshop
Creating surface pattern designs from the initial topic of ’Folklore and Nomadic travellers’.
I worked with students from their sketch book research, developing patterns and motifs from their inspirational images and sketches.
Demonstrating the technique of developing a hand made repeat tile, the students adapted this to their own designs which could be then developed into original patterned fabrics/ wallpapers etc.
Wirral Make fest
Wirral Make Fest is a free event which gives children and adults the chance to discover and try their hand at different elements of science, tech, engineering and the arts.
I ran a drop-in workshop designing repeat patterns by hand.
I provided a gallery of doodles and motifs that could be used as inspiration for the start an original pattern, eventually developing it into a repeatable print.
Children in particular loved the magic of creating a print that matches which ever way you move it around!
It was really fun to take part and helped to develop new skills!
Victoria gallery and Museum with Dot Art Gallery, Liverpool
A 1 day workshop creating a repeat pattern by hand, inspired by the amazing interior architecture of the Victoria Gallery and Museum, Liverpool.
Using observational sketches of the original Victorian tiles adorning the walls of the museum and the art inside it, such as Della Robbia ceramics we used the rest of the workshop to create our own original patterns.
Fashion Illustration Workshop
A 2 hour workshop creating fashion illustrations using iconic fashion magazines as inspiration to create our own fashion muses.
Using expressive materials such as inks and markers to represent textures and fabrics such as feathers, embellishments, stripes and prints.
