This historic building has been brought back to life by local artist Emma Rodgers, who has transformed it into a working art studio and gallery space. An ever changing array of paintings, ceramics and prints on display provide an inspirational backdrop for the workshops!

Have you ever wanted to create your own pattern? This brand new workshop explores the fascinating process creating a handmade repeating pattern with watercolours. Discover this simple but very satisfying technique!

I have enjoyed a long career as a printed textile designer for the fashion industry, creating printed designs for many international fashion brands including Zara, Anthropologie and Marks and Spencer to name a few. Creating a repeatable pattern allows the designs to be developed as printed fabrics and wallpaper.

We will start by creating a small motif. We will use that motif whether it be floral, decorative or geometric to develop into a seamless pattern that matches on all sides! I will demonstrate the methods and techniques at the start of the workshop and be on hand to offer advice every step of the way.
